Home-Start Blanchardstown

Home-Start is a registered Charity in the Dublin 15 area, offering support and practical help to parents of young children in their own home helping to prevent family crisis and breakdown. Volunteers visit once a week for about 2 hours supporting the parent to deal with the issues that arise raising children. Home-Start is a free service utilizing volunteers, who have parenting experience themselves, to be alongside the family during the early years of the children’s lives.

LEARN MORE

Our Services

We provide early years care and education for children ranging from 4 months to 6 years of age. Learn more about the Age Groups on OUR SERVICE page.

Babies

Our baby area caters for babies aged 4 months to 1 year. With a 1:3 ratio, babies enjoy lots of interaction and are supported to grow and learn at their own stage of development in a safe and stimulating environment.

Wobblers

At 12-24 months, wobblers take their first steps and really begin to explore the world around them. We encourage and support their new abilities with movement activities such as climbing, dancing, stretching and balancing.

Toddlers

At 2-3 years, your toddlers interests and skills are developing at an amazing rate. Toddlers are very active and need lots of movement so we spend a lot of time outdoors, where there is plenty of room to safely run, jump and climb.

Pre-Schoolers

Preschool age is a different stage of a child’s development in which they demonstrate independence and display determination and perseverance. Pre-schoolers vocabulary becomes broader by showing more participation in storytelling and conversation’s where they share their experiences.

Connecting Communities Through Volunteering

Home-Start Blanchardstown has become a leading charity in family support and early years’ development, an area increasingly recognized for its crucial importance to a child’s future life chances. We are a multi-cultural and multi-denominational organisation committed to the inclusion and identity of all individuals and families within our service.

We oppose to discrimination of any sort, to include Ethnic Origin, Religion, Physical/Mental Disability, Gender Identity, Sexual Orientation and or any other circumstance.

Our amazing volunteers graciously give their time, care and effort and collectively make a difference in the lives of thousands of families each year. Unfortunately, our family services waiting lists are rapidly growing due to the shortfall in volunteers at present.
